Moving can be a very stressful experience. You’re going to have to pack up your home, hire the movers if you choose this option and you’re going to have to also purchase supplies. If you’re purchasing supplies, there are some steps that one can take in order to get some rather good deals on supplies such as tape, boxes and packing peanuts.
Check classified ads: Head to some classified ads online and search for boxes and moving supplies. Believe it or not, some people may give away all of these things for free. The reason that most will give it away is because they just moved, and they want to simply get rid of it, rather than throw it away.
Check local stores: Liquor and grocery stores are a great way to find boxes for free. Either talk with a manager here or consider looking in the dumpster. This is a great way to get some solid boxes for next to nothing.
The storage company: If you’re going to rent a truck, check with the local storage company. Most companies will give you a discount if you rent a truck from them. It’s also wise to check for coupon codes as well to see what pops up.
